About Jawakara Islands water aerodrome
Jawakara Islands Seaplane Base (VR-MAB) serves Jawakara Islands on Maabinhuraa in Lhaviyani Atoll. It lies about 128 km (69 nm) from Malé, roughly 50 minutes by seaplane. It is also known as Mabinhura by Jawakara.
Like all water aerodromes in the Maldives, operations are daytime VFR only, and conditions on the water — wind, sea state, and tide — decide whether a departure or arrival is comfortable, marginal, or off.
