Do I need an account?
No. The map, every aerodrome page and MMS weather alerts are free to look at. A free account adds nearby aircraft and phone notifications. Aviator adds wind, METAR, tide, sea state and runways.
Where does the weather come from?
Alerts, METAR and sea state come from the Maldives Meteorological Service. Wind and rain are forecasts from Open-Meteo. Tide is a prediction, not a gauge reading. Each reading shows its own time, and they don't all update together.
Can I plan a flight with this?
Use it to get a picture of the day, alongside your official briefing, NOTAMs and your operator's procedures. It doesn't replace any of those. Seavion isn't approved by MCAA or MMS.
What's VR-ETH?
The code MCAA issues with each water aerodrome licence. Pilots use these every day, but they're not ICAO codes. You can also search by resort name.

Can I put it on my phone?
Yes. The Install page shows how. Pages you've opened recently stay on your phone, and weather updates as soon as you're back online.
How do the SMS alerts work?
Aviator and up. Add your number in your account and turn them on. Whenever MMS issues an alert you get a text with a link to the map. SMS works without mobile data.
What does it cost and can I cancel?
Free is free. Aviator is $14.99 a month or $149.90 a year, with a seven-day trial. Cancel from your account to stop the next renewal; you keep access until the period ends. Refunds are explained on the Refunds page. Charts are $99 each with delivery within 24 hours, or $149 within the hour, unless we get in touch because the chart needs checking first.
